Mediterranean Cuisine is recognized as one of the healthiest and most delicious cuisines worldwide.
Key components of Mediterranean cuisine include heart-healthy olive oil, protein-rich legumes, fish and whole grains with moderate amounts of wine and red meat. The flavors are rich, and the health benefits for people choosing a Mediterranean diet are hard to ignore—they are less likely to develop high blood pressure, high cholesterol or become obese.
I was invited by Kavita Rai – PR Manager, Marine Plaza at The Bayview restaurant at Hotel Marine Plaza to sample some delicious dishes at the Mediterranean Food Festival curated by Chef Matteo Girelli which is going on from 4th – 13th March 2016.
The brilliant view of Marine Drive from Bayview is itself enough to make the dinner more appetizing, and the dishes on offer in this special buffet change everyday in both veg as well as non-veg varieties hence making it an even more of a must-attend event.
It was a blissful privilege to hear Chef Matteo speak about the uniqueness of Mediteranean cuisine where they use loads of healthy veggies, fruits, olive oil and very less spices to create delicacies throughout France, Italy, Spain, Turkey.
Starting with the soup, I had a rich vegetable soup, the Minestrone which was different from what I had expected but healthy and tasty just as well, Bruschetta Al PomoDoro perfectly grilled with tomato basil & mozarella cheese.
There were many salads and main course dishes on offer in both veg as well as non veg categories, each more delicious than the last one. I especially loved Lasagna, Greek Salad, Gnocchi in red & white sauce.
It’s always a pleasure to have a discussion about food and related topics with Chefs. Bloggers and Chef’s deep and Interesting conversation is one of the memorable moment
The flavors of many veggies came through very clearly and made every dish very flavorful. Finally the desserts made our meal the most memorable with the brilliant dark chocolate mousse, Strawberry Cheesecake, Dark After Pear, Apple Jalebis, Fruit Platter and many such amazingly light and tasty (and thankfully, not artificially sugary dishes) desserts
The service and ambience were perfect for a night out with family or friends and I recommend this food festival to every foodie who loves to explore healthy varieties
At Rs.1893 per person, it is the most value for money fine-dine experience making every bite special.
